DEC: Code of Ethnics
The three meaningful DEC: Code of Ethnics:
- We shall serve as advocates for children with disabilities and their families and for the professionals who serve them by supporting both policy and programmatic decisions that enhance the quality of their lives.
- We shall build relationships with individual children and families while individualizing the curricula and learning environments to facilitate young children's development and learning.
- We shall be responsible for maintaining the appropriate national, state, or other credential or license requirements for the services we provide while maintaining our competence in practice and research by ongoing participation in professional development and education activities.
These code of ethnics are meaningful because it is important to have the credential or license to teach young children. Therefore, the teachers are license to implement research-based techniques, strategies, and methods to use in order to teach young children in the classroom setting. Nevertheless, it is essential to build a strong and open line of communication with the parents and families with the young children because by collaborating they are able to work on skills and concepts that are introduced in the classroom and can be done at home. It is essential to make sure that accommodations and modifications can be made in the classroom to the lessons and activities to meet the needs all of children with and without disabilities.
NAEYC: Code of Ethical Conduct
The three ideas that are meaningful:
- To be familiar with the knowledge based of early childhood care and education and stay informed through continuing education and training.
- To support the right of each child to play and learn in an inclusive environment that meets the needs of children with and without disabilities.
- To ensure that each child's culture, languages, ethnicity, and family structure are recognized and valued in the program.
These three ideas are meaningful to me because it is important to remain current on the issues that address and affect the field of early childhood education. Therefore, if educators remain update they are able to implement the various strategies and techniques to use in an early childhood classroom with young children. Nevertheless, with the multiple diverse learners in the classroom it is essential to create and implement activities and lessons that all the young children can relate to at some point in the learning environment.
